UT(aka Grenich Mean Time) Date and Time of Solstice and Equinox until 2020
taken from The US Naval Observatory web-site at http://aa.usno.navy.mil/data/docs/EarthSeason.html
How to read the chart: Look at the year 2007 to read Perihelion- the month is always January then the 3 20 means the 3rd day the 20th hour therefore Perihelion will occur in 2007 on January 3rd at 8pm. Next to determine something else- say the winter solstice look at the Solstice column for December it reads 22 00 23 this means that the shortest day of the year in 2007 will be in December(always) day 22 hour 00 minute 23 or December 22nd at 23 minutes after midnight. As you can see all times are in the 24 hour clock--
| year |
Perihelion -Jan. |
Aphelion- July |
|
Equinox- March |
Solstice- September |
Equinox- June |
Solstice- December |
